On the Nurse Gwenny Podcast
Nurse Gwenny welcomes Katelyn, a dual licensed flight paramedic and nurse who has grown in popularity online for her easy to understand teaching style found on tik tok and instagram.
They discuss lessons they wish they had learned earlier. Things like:
Proactively seeking mentors
Finding safe places to ask “seemingly” dumb questions
Developing skills to self education and find resouces
Katelyn compares the helicopter and it’s limitations to some of the critical access hospitals she helps supply and service. Simply put, supplies and resources are limited and sometimes nonexistent! This breeds the development of those sometimes forgotten or the skillsets that can be taken for granted when working in larger, more fully resourced hospitals.
Nurse Gwenny and Katelyn celebrate the joys of being educators and the moments they cherish hearing about the wins and successes of others.
Katelyn Dykas shares how she is proud of stepping into a CCRN review education project and Nurse Gwenny mentions her latest book, a CEN test prep book similar to “BUT WHY.”
